Curated List of Home Essentials for the Modern Homeowner

Here's my personal list of items that I find essential as homeowner.

If you are often travelling and away from your home, automatic light timers are an absolute must...especially to keep thieves away.  Just program the time that you'd like to have your table lamp turn on.

Video Cameras are so easy to install these days. Personally, I really like the Wyze Cam because they are easy to use and offer good coverage and clear views of the areas you want to see.

To keep your home clean and dust free, especially helpful if you have shoulder or arm pain, children or pets, irobot vacuums are my saviours!  I have been using them for over 8 years now and even have a wet mop one as well.

In the bathroom, my necessary luxury is my heated towel rack. I use this for my bath towels to ensure they are warm and dry and ready to use.  Another way I like to use the heated towel rack is  to hang more delicate items like lingerie, undies and lycra/spandex items that cannot be put into the dryer.

For the kitchen, I have an induction stove top and to prevent it from getting all scratched up from my pots and my cast iron frying pan, I like to use the Lazy K stove top mats...these are dishwasher safe as well.
